We’ll take you to a nearby trail in the surrounding jungle, where one of our family members will be your guide on this excursion. This is a fairly strenuous hike, with some up/down hiking and definitely not a “stroll in the park”.
The best time is early morning, leaving at 7AM to avoid the heat of the day and to have a better chance spotting wildlife. We typically serve coffee or tea, before departure and breakfast is available after the return. If you are not much for getting up early you can also go late afternoon, around 4PM.
On this hike you will see birds, such as parrots, hawks, and toucans and our island is also home to the famous red and blue-jeans dart frogs. Along with the gorgeous views we often see sloths and groups of howler monkeys. If you are lucky the dolphins may show up as well on the short boat ride to or from the Hideaway.
If it’s been raining, there is definitely mud involved in this excursion. Therefore, we offer rubber boots and for comfort you’ll want to put on a pair of socks. We strongly encourage long pants or at the very least, insect repellent. A backpack for water, extra insect repellent, sunscreen, camera, binoculars, etc. is also recommended.
Price: $10 per person
