We arrive on the bay side of Bastimentos Island. The beach is about a 15 minute walk amongst trees, flowers and ponds that, similar to everywhere else on these islands, are full of birds, amphibians and animals that entertain with their colors and sounds. As you get closer to the golden sandy beach you start hearing the crashing waves, which are fun to play in. However, be warned, there are strong currents here when the surf is high, so stay close to other people and the shore. There are several restaurants which serve cold drinks and food.
Facing the ocean, if you walk to the far right along the beach you will end up at a wooden trail. This leads to a platform perched over rocks where the waves crash with huge force - ideal for taking some memorable pictures.
